Anyone have a 7bolt head?

I don't want to post in the WTB section just yet unless I actually definitely need it.

I'm looking to see if anyone has a 7bolt head, I don't believe a 6bolt will bolt up without modification, correct me if I'm wrong?

I've found a very clean 93 AWD Talon for very very cheap, has everything minus a turbo.
Supposedly the kid says it just overheated and probably warped the head.

Aside from some clearcoat peeling it has a VERY good body and a nice interior and is all bone stock. I'm thinking I may actually fix it and DD it (yeah I know god help me 2 DSM's) but I'd love to have a near stock AWD DSM to DD and feel safe enough to go a bit more wild on the current talon. I'd definitely keep it about all stock minus intake/exhaust.


If it turns out to be worse I may still buy it and part it out.. The AWD drivetrain itself would net me more than the kid wants for the car.

As long as I read everything right from what tbTalon was saying in my 1g vs 2g thread you should be able to use a 6 bolt head too. All 1g heads should be the same. I'm sure others will chime in to confirm or deny this.

And an odd question, is it maroon/black cherry and automatic?

And if so that'd be great, not that I have a 6bolt head or anything but I could not limit my search to 7bolt heads if I indeed go that route if I get the car.

1g 6 or 7 bolt works. I have a 1g head off a 7bolt. Its the 2g that has a different head. You can get a head off a non turbo even, just has different cams. Overheated head may just need plained.

Naw this is it.
I'm not even sure If I'll get it, the guy hasn't been that communicative.
However either way I'd like it, theres well over $300 worth of stuff on it that I could sell..

The head I have needs rebuilt. But it wouldnt be bad to have to build for the silver talon. Get it tanked, new valves, seals, retainers, springs, and cams, and some 3g lifters. Do a little polish to it.

Just have to do a compression test and also a leakdown test. You could possibly just have the head planed as said before. No sense in ripping it apart, do some diagnosing before ripping in to it. That is of course, if you get the car.

Not to mention I've dumped a lot of money into the talon lately and probably shouldnt put another 500 into a project. When I decided I wasnt going to buy it I put like another 300 into the talon lol.
