Turbo setup custom built by me at RHI and tuned by John Cozad / Rev Hard Inc.
Stock HP @ the crank 345
Stock HP @ the wheels 265
Turbo'd HP @ the crank 575 ( estimate figuring 25% loss with auto transmission )
Turbo'd HP @ the wheels 435
8psi, 93 octane SHELL gasoline, 100% stock 100,000 mile motor
Nice gain of 64% whp and 170whp ( supercharged c5 autos gain about 55% whp )

Is this the same vette that was put into the wall at the last midnight mayhem at cordova? I remember lookin at it, didn't look to pretty. I was in the staging lanes in my car when it happened.

I will safely say 265rwhp is the lowest stock LS1 numbers I've ever seen. I know 97/98 numbers are generally lower, but vettes usually dyno higher than fbodies and thats what I follow. I was thinking it was a c4 with those numbers until I saw the video

At that dyno mine did 381whp 390wtq std. w the s/c. 497whp 560wtq on n2o.

From several ppl that dyno reads low for a rwd, the strange thing is for a awd it reads a lil hi compared to a dynojet at least what # I have heard. From that dyno I can tell you timing adj. gave me 20+ whp increase. Why imo a switch eeprom chip setup be the way to go w my modifications. It takes 5 min at least to reflash my ecu/computer w the handheld.
Same exact setup mine reads 440 whp sae at bw superflow on the s/c and 10 whp more w n2o on. Burnt my drag radials right off. Why I always ask for a 40~50 roll test w cars w similar hp figures. Someday I'll get around to a dynojet test then the # will be put up here like I always have done.

are you seriously claming a 140hp loss on having an auto? i would say 30-40whp MAX...trans seems to shift pretty stout though! and its cool that its a completely stock motor...

I am claiming a 440 - 381 hp difference at least. Tires were prob spinning w the 440 #. The superflow dynojet corrected # was 490 so it said. So that is 110 whp. So go strap ur car down those 2 places and go wtf.

yeah dyno's are a joke, you never know exactly...timeslips/races are where it matters!

Agreed, but seeing that still would make me worry about what I'm starting with (previous/poor tune, something wrong). I think the worst I've seen was 270s on a high mile auto 98 firebird, and I'm pretty sure that was a stang dyno. Oh well, just my 2 cents. Needs track times :supz:

The deal is imo absolute dyno # means very little. However I did discover by adj. timing from 17 to 23 deg that was worth 20+ whp on same dyno within minutes of each test. Other than that it seems a dynojet is pretty much gold standard if comparing dyno whp. The others may be fine for tuning esp w a eddy current brake and a turbo setup. I just say 381 whp that's fine w me. I have no reason to say otherwise, yet someday will put it on a dynojet. Everybody here should know what a 03 cobra does w my bolt on mods. 440 to 460 whp.
I don't doubt Trents #, seems he increased it pretty good. When I put mine on that dyno w n2o the shop ppl were surprised it gained so much wtq. But that is what n2o does. 390 to 560. We'll see how this vette project works out all I can say.
