over the summer i did conrete work in dubuque for a small company(when i say small i mean, it was me and the 2 owners/brothers)

a little background on my bosses. One is married. One is not. When working with them alone they poke fun, nothing to serious. But when you get them together you better not let your guard down because theyll use anything as an excuse to crack a joke!

weve been known to pull pranks on each other. and this day was no different. We were sitting in the customers (Dubuque county sheriff) yard waiting for our concrete to show up. We were getting restless and annoyed because this is the third time we had to wait 1+ hours for it even though we called and put in a will-call the day before.

I was about to say screw it and find something to do when out of the corner of my eye i spot this teenage couple making out in a car down the street. BINGO! we had to mess with them. so i go tell my boss, not the married one, but the single one who, for lack of better terms, is a pervert.

I tell them. And my boss starts walking down the street. The two making out noticed him but he just kept walking like he didnt know they were there. He gets near the car, looks around to make sure nobody is looking (when he knows there is :) ), walks over to a tree and just starts humping the shit out of it. I mean, hes going to town on the thing. The look the two had on their faces was just sheer terror. They started the car, peeled out and sped away!

We laughed our asses off the rest of the day. We poured the driveway and went back to the shop and called it a day.

The following day we went back to strip/wash the driveway. The customer comes out, offers us beers (only not me, he is a cop after all). We start bullshitting and we somehow get on the subject of rapists and pedophiles. He then asks is weve seen anyone strange in the neighborhood and we asked why? He replied that one of his neighbors called him last night and said there was a man humping trees yesturday afternoon.

We play dumb and say we didnt see anything yesturday.

I have a few good work stories but I think my favorite would have ot be when I was working at a Scaffolding company and we where setting up down at the court house in Iowa City. started building and everything and around noonish everyone employed at the court house started doing lunch. It was probably close to 1pm or so when we got a couple stories up (we where setting it up all the way around the building and up to the roof). We start carrying scaffolding sections across the plank and he here some noise coming from a cracked window. Of course we had to look in, what do we see? Two people doing the nasty on a desk. Well, the chick was on the desk, the guy was standing.
I got the attention of a few co-workers (there where probably 5-6 of us that day) and they made their way over to see, one of them kinda "chuckled" a little too loud and we thought we where busted so we kinda "ran" which is a HORRIBLE idea when 40ft~ in the on 12" planks on a crazy windy day! One of the temps slipped but caught himself, no one got hurt and was stayed away form that side of the building for a few hours.

Unfortunately the picture I have of it is lost.

Back in the summer of 2008 - the Target I worked at went through a remodel.

They took out a whole section of our back room and removed the floor and everything to put in a freezer to store frozen/cold goods as we were enlarging our frozen/produce section.

Well a bunch of us were back there making sure all the hangers/cans/flats/equipment were all put away after the store closed. One guy who aside from myself is one of those people who love to mess around noticed the floor had all been taken out and it was just one big box area about the size of a tennis court with sand for the floor.

Sooo we found two ladders and put them at opposite sides of the sand pit. We took yellow "crime-scene" tape and strung it between the two ladders. I went out to the toy areas and got one of those bouncing balls out of the cage that the kids love to mess with.

We all played volley ball for about 10 minutes. Our volley ball setup stayed up for about a week and people would go play volley ball on their breaks lol. We had to get rid of it though because the District Manager was coming to inspect the remodel - and the work on the freezer section was going to resume soon.

Another time I had just left the Guest Service desk, taking hanger bins to the back room to unload them(store had just closed) and one of the lower level managers saw me down an isle and asked me over the walky-talky if I could take some hangers she had. Before i could say anything my friend who I mentioned above just yells over the walky "IT'S A TRAP!" and the manager says over the walky "Lets remain serious guys, we still have work to do." Then my friend goes "OUR TEAM MEMBERS CAN'T REPEL SERIOUSNESS OF THIS MAGNITUDE." Then some random guy who I dont remember just says over the walky "Luke, I am your father" and killed the joke.

Dude, I work at a casino....

Everyday is a funny story. Bums hiding in the woods, wasted people trying to do hilarious things, old ladies trying to molest valets, etc. etc.
