Wow, for once I agree. I think the word "stock" gets thrown around much too casually and really has no definition these days.

the stock motors go to 850-900whp. The guys running fast have all built engines with cams, big turbos and so on, the only thing they change is some go Auto for consistancy and others stay 6 speed, the stock 6 speed trans is bulit proof. same as the rear end, only thing they change is to a TRD LSD in the rear end, and then a drive shaft. other wise it takes 3 fuel pumps and Standalone just like anything else, and som suspension work. the stock things that stay are just the rear end and trans.

Ryan you should of got a 3rd gen.

FD swaps cost about 10g's more to do and are more involved. FD has less room under the hood for a turbo setup and less room inside if your taller or bigger. I like to own my car not the bank and insurance is next to nothing for the old fc. When it was non-turbo I only had $6k into it the whole swap including the price of the car.

I like ls1 fd's but the cost to build them you could just buy a c5 corvette and have the same handling and power with a lot less work.
