finish it and take it to the track and dyno, then you will know...
now that ive stated the obvious, knowing what i know about dsm's (minimal) i would say it looks like a 12sec setup..
Clinical

Agreed with fifdy - sounds like a 12 sec setup however with cars such as DSM's it's hard to guess track times like this as you can have the same setup as the next guy but if you have a good tune and he doesnt there could be a whole second difference.

depending on how much your car weighs also is a factor. I would say if you got dsmlink or different tuning software it may help. AWD or FWD? 60 foot will tell alot. I would say low 12s.

hummm sounds familiar....ass
Side note... you only have 550cc injectors? and you want to run 20-25spi on a 16g? im not a DSM guy so i dont really know but it sounds like you will be close to maxing those things out

Nonsense, with gas 550's is plenty for a 16g at 23lbs. Evo's come with 560's and a bigger 16g and run 18psi from the factory..most turn it up to 26psi. It'll be just fine.
A 35r is a big step up from a 16g. It also requires a lot more supporting mods and something better to tune with then JUST an SAFC.
How about cams? That will help the 16g breath a lot more up-top and will probably be the most bang for your buck.

you'd have em by a mile an hour! Im simply making an educated guess based off his modifications, and experience (judged by the questions he asked).
Plus if he runs a 13.7 he out did the guess and wins.

you already know what you need to do to get that.... and a lot of other parts.

5-600whp is going to need more then stock internals, and more fuel, and A LOT better tuning then an safc.
A gt35r will do 500-600whp, but you need a lot of supporting modifications to reach that. I suggest you go to dsmtuners or dsmtalk and do a little bit of reading about what guys are doing to reach that power level.
I could tell you right now exactly what you need and how to do it...but what's the fun in that? You won't learn anything!
Clinical
01-21-2010, 01:20 PM
as mentioned you'll need a lot of supporting mods...
1000cc+ injectors
DSMLink or something of the sort for tuning
Most likely an E85 tune would be best
ARP Heads/Studs/etc
Built internals.
I think you're a bit over your head going for 500-600whp from where you currently are.
However if you have the money/know how go for it.
AutoMods

Everything you need right here. We specialize in DSMs.
To surpass 400whp you will need pistons, rods, l19 studs, built head, link-ems, etc.
400whp can net 11's and can be done much more easily and cheaper than 500+.
Lets see some pics of your car.

If you plan on goin 35R i suggest stayin 2.0l, just my opinion but i love my 35R 2.0l and its a lot cheaper to build than a 2.3l.

what would be a good turbo for my setup i have?
Clinical
02-11-2010, 11:06 PM
Buy my 20g so I have a reason to go ahead and get a holset :P
But really, a 20g would work. Something like a holset hx35 or hx40 would work. GT35R would also work. I'm not 100% on top of all my turbo brands but those are ones that would work good. I'm a big holset fan myself :P

You are going to need to upgrade your fuel setup if you plan on running a bigger turbo.
If you are looking to a t3/t4 hotside you will most likely want to upgrade your exhaust manifold. They do make adapter plates for the stock exhaust manifold and t3 setups. Which is alot cheaper than a new manifold. They don't flow as well as a equal length though.
It all really depends on your goals. What kind of power do you want? What are you using the car for?

this is what iam looking at geting right now Garrett Ball Bearing T3/T4E T04E 50 Trim Compress TURBO i just got a t4 turbo manifold and iam and iam looking at geting 1100cc injecters i want i want to hit at lest 450 at the wheels
AutoMods

We have 50 trims in stock here in North Liberty, and it can make 450whp. I have them that are t3 flanged and ones that are flanged for the stock mitsu manifold. Its pretty rare for a 50 trim to be flanged for a t4. Even most 35r's are still t3 flanged on dsm's. Journal bearing one will cost you around $725 or so. If you really want to use the t4 I can order the t4 housing for a 50 trim or a new 5857 billet pte turbo $775

Is it a Turbonetics/ebay t3 cast manifold?
