has any one heard about the s2000 swaps in civics or seen it.

It's a waste of time and money, but yeah, I've seen it. There's a company that's in the process of developing a kit for the CRX & 4th generation Civic.

If you are going to do it, LSx is the only way to go. Yes, it fits. There is actually more space between the strut towers than some of the cars that came with SBC engines. An iron block would fuck the handling really bad, so stick with the LS series. Use a 240sx rear subframe & suspension, the R200 diff is plenty strong. Oh, and you will probably need a full cage, the Civic chassis is real good, but the torsional stiffness may be compromised when you cut out the tunnel, not to mention the modifications required to get the 240sx bits mounted.

Wiertech was developing a kit for the RWD F, but really.... The motor set costs 2x as much for less than half the tq, and just over half the hp of an LSx.

I might be changing to a Fox Body or F-body guru soon. Which ever can deliver the best power/weight/$$

I may make another thread about it, but right now F-body's are winning with the double wishbone front, fox's are close because of the common 5x4.5 lug pattern & cheap yet running manual-trans rust buckets.

I want a V8 too....

New v8's are hard to beat even the old sbf, it has so many options and better than a old sbc as far as working on it. Lsx parts are expensive imo but good at least and some advantages over a sbf as far as working on them. The sbf has the canted valve available though w massive airflow if doing crazy hp esp w a power adder. Bottom line on reg old production engines bigger ci rules w equal mods w good aftermarket parts if u can afford them. Aren't cheap for sure but are available now, something we never had in early 70's. I'd rather run 19# boost on pump gas w a v8 than 40+ # on a 4 cyl w race gas for those cars to make close to same hp. If e85 well then jump the v8 to say 24/26# and w a lighter car run 8's w a auto. W/o a shell car the 4 cyl has no advantage and harder on parts imo. I guess we will see on manual runoff, a good test on reg street cars. I did not specify say 93 oct gas to give the 4 cyl a decent chance. None of ppl in the know will say a pump gas 4 will out do a good v8 design on pump gas w equal weight.
