OK, so when James and I went to Minnesota we took the Mapquest route that we printed off. Going 70mph~ average speed it took us almost 9 hours to get there. I picked up an Atlas and took my own way back, this time it was snowing/raining/iceing the whole way home so the speed was a little slower at 70mph~ average. We got home in under 7 hours! I am not GREAT at math but I figured that means we cut over 100 miles off the trip? We stopped for gas twice on the way there and 3 times on the way back also.
anyways, now I am going to Oregon, IL to pick up a 429/460 (he has a few of each, hoping one might be a 4-bolt block, if not I am going with a 429) and again mapquest seems to be adding liek 50+ miles to the 100~ mile trip!?!? Apparently MapQuest has something against Highway 30. Is mapquest owned by Exxon or something? LOL

RED = my way
BLUE = Mapquests way

routing you to 4 lane hiways. my navigation in my truck did that by default until I figured out how to change it. So annoying. Why would i drive 70 miles out of the way to hit 4 lane???

I always heard 460s with 429 CJ heads were the best route, no idea how true that is but I thought I'd throw that out there.

just using the block and crank mainly... aluminum heads, cam, rods, pistons, intake etc... all aftermarket. going to try and lighten the pig up as much as possible, these cars are nose heavy enough with a small block!

However I can let the rebuilt 351W I have go for cheaper if you are still interested... $200 if you want it, $300 with the trans (C4 I believe)
