Looks like ford has the v6 covered too... check it out... I'm impressed, will be quickest v6 pony car.. Twin phasers like the 5.0 dohc. Optional v6 performance package 305 hp and 30 mpg... They will sell. You see those main caps on this thing?

Block will have huge maincaps like that v6. As you can see a full counter weighted forged crank, shorties for weight savings, stout looking block, improved followers looks to be a hi rev engine for sure so hopefully rods and pistons at least close to gt 500 specs. Suppose to have the gt500 heads so 300 cfm there about. And a sorta old sho v6 intake style good for high rpms.

Oh found out the new 5.0 engine weight...The engine is quite light for its size as well — just 430 pounds, which is 20 percent less than the weight of the last 5.0-liter V-8 available in the Mustang, Ford says. The lower weight was made possible by the use of an aluminum block and heads, a composite intake manifold and cam covers, and hollow camshafts. Why all of this...Don't you love it... Ford already had redesigned the Mustang for 2010, but these changes for both the V-6 and V-8 models less than a year later were made necessary by the unexpected competition from the new Camaro, which rejoined the Chevy lineup for 2010 after an eight-year absence.

Stay tuned for track sessions and then of course street/track azz whipping on the camaro at least for a lil while. I hope I can test them out also. v6 is under 3500#. v8 at most ought to be 3550#.

I'd actually consider buying a v6 and w a 100 wet shot it would kick good azz w the performance pkg. look in more info on that v6 vid. 50/50 weight dist. That 5.0 w a 125 would do well also. About time engineers were told ok do it on run of the mill base cars. That v6 could run a hi 13 w seats etc. thrown out and a tune. 12's w the spray. v6 was top secret.... mustang nismo ftw.

The reason I mentioned the hi priced shelby, is....
Ford engineers have already gave out the info needed to tune a new 5.0 w a s/c and probably helped it along from the start.
I'm sure sooner or later all this stuff will be available from ford racing at least.

It shows to me Ford has committed itself to again dominate the pony world in all aspects of racing and even the streets. Been a lot cheaper to just do some body makeup and live off of some retro and some race cars.

Or be like other co. that never release and help w software tuning. That's a big deal. It was yrs for dodge software tuning for the hemi to come around. I'm not bragging, it's just the facts.

I'm glad the camaro/challenger was reborn, I said that already many times.

I hear the engineers for the coyote 5.0 made it possible for the implementation of the EcoBoost system in the future.

The possibility of a Twin turbo 5.0 is pretty cool!

I've done some research into direct port setup....
For joe avg hotrodder it sucks...
Why the sho is stuck at a 12.75 et. This is better, gets same mileage, same power w cam phasing instead. Plus pop in some cj 80# injectors and retune it if you wish. I like these ford engineers, read the story in 5.0 mag.... All thanks to the new camaro......

Yea me also. When you read the story of one building headers for the 5.0 in his garage and all the other guys deeds I would like one also. They appeared way more dedicated than our engineers. The v6 appears good also though my lil bro wants a gt auto convertible.

Actually I do. They should be right in my territory. Even with the inflated dyno number (an motor trends guesses based on that :roll: ) they still make some pretty damn good power. Don't worry about camaro needing an SC, z28 should be here soon.

Those motortrend tards ran a 12.8 bone stock on the gt stick. I bet some real drivers can get a 12.4 or a 12.3 and for less money than the competition... shades of fox body days.

v6 comes in at

yea but even first one stang continues to pull ahead.. I'd say the l99 is weak heavy sauce. What you think stang stall is 2.5k? W 3.73's it could do real good w some tires. Idk what gears this one had.. you can get 3.55's or 3.73's or 3.31's are standard... No brembo brakes, opt gears, +30k...drag and street special... Throw some dr on and make some $... Or even spray it and make $ off the cobra guys like me.. I hear of a s/c option.. if ford puts it on full warranty...

A 2011 gt dyno test by evolution performance on a mustang dyno... Usually that one reads a lil low. It appears at least to put down what a stock like 03 did. I want to see a 2011 v6 dyno also.
