Cool little motor! I wonder if it will catch on or not?

Idk about side loads on outside pistons. But coletti is onboard, he isn't stupid.

I doubt it, it seems to lack any type of variable exhaust/induction timing, which is key to emissions at variable rpm. Also, especially with the constantly improving electrical technology no major manufacturer will invest in the idea (ie: Wankel).

If anything, the next big 'revolution' in 'ICE powered' cars will be a switch to constant RPM engines, spinning generators, charging batteries, that power electric motors, which drive the wheels. Constant RPM engines have major advantages over variable RPM engines, and would extend the range of electric vehicles. Those engines could be made for any fuel type, and could be ultra low RPM for excellent efficiency & longevity (see: Lister CS diesel), more typical type engines, or possibly even small turbines. Since the engine is charging batteries, it can be very low output, with acceleration using stored capacity, and the engine recharging the pack while cruising.

Better off sticking with traditional IMO.

Isn't this engine basically a low rpm diesel good for charging batteries etc? Sorta like a old gmc diesel 2 stroke? They have a smaller version in works.
