looks like GM has something to put in the class of the GT500 now, except its 1.2 seconds and damn near 10mph faster than the shelby while still being only 7k more fully loaded and having only 35 more advertised hp.....they are also using the TVS style blower which is very cool....not starting another flame thread, just throwing this out there for discussion...

You forgot to put in the part that they used drag radials to get that time out of it.... Check the small print. We all know what a stock GT500 does on drag radials, low 11's.

Nice. I was waiting for someone besides hennessy to come out with a model that actually had some taste. I like it because instead of big ugly wheels and ground effects, everything SLP did on that car looks pretty good. I'd like to see a 60ft time for that 11.6 pass. Very good comp for the gt500.

So your saying that SLP575 would go 11.6 on stock tires? *cough*bullshit*cough Like I said dont forget the fine print....

it sure as HELL wouldnt go 12.8, they must of cut a 2.5 60ft prior to using drag radials on the gt500...

12.8 tested by Motor Trend, quite possibly the worst car magazine known to man. Since Car and Driver ran 11.7@127 in a ZR1 is that really what its capable of? I guess the SLP575 is faster then a ZR1 now too? You and I both know better then that..Fine print must read... Get it? MM&FF Oct 09 issue 2010 GT500 test. They ran a best of 11.592 with the drag radials, then swapped for the stock tires, just to see what they could do with them, result 11.951 @ 120mph. Allgo went 12.0 in 90 Notch's Bro-in laws GT-500 Convertible with drag radials. Convertible as in HEAVY. Don't hate, congratulate. BTW the Camaro does look good.

I went 12.0 on stock tires not drag radials... put radials on it and it would have went 11.60s no problem, word to the wise fifdy dont argue with snicker on times from magazines he is full of knowledge that no one on here can compete against...

that cts-v time is wrong too. I think motor trend ran a 12.3 with the auto. 12.6 manual...

I saw a old guy not powershifting bone stock w hoosier dr run a 12.1 @ 120 in a 2010 gt 500 and he drove worse than I do. 2010 gearing and tranny ratios are different along w more power. 120 mph should go at least mid 11's. And it's confirmed w et streets.

I take it SLP is a division of GM or what?

FiFdYnUtZ

not really, its more of a "shelby" type company, maybe even less affiliated then they are....but im sure there still is a warranty, kinda like the firehawks...

Always been tightly affiliated with the 4th gen SS/WS6's. I believe some my SS parts have an slp part number on them. Could be wrong.

I just thought I'd toss this out there even though SLP is comparing the 2010 GT500 with 540hp its hard not to bring up the super snake with its 725hp. Wouldn't that out preform the ZL575?
I am not trying to start a pissing contest since I'm sure Chevy or SLP/Lingenfelter/Hennessey etc will create a more powerful car than the ZL575 but as of now I think Fords done a great job.

In all honesty I'm just glad the war between the Camaro and Mustang is back, long live Pony cars.

Hennessey already has a more powerful car. The HPE700.

I got to see it at Barrett Jackson earlier in Oct. It was super cleanly done. Not really sure how it wold stack up against a Shelby though. Just have to wait and see if anyone does a comparison.

Fact of the matter is, when you get up around those prices and performance numbers, it's not going to matter a whole lot as far as difference in specs and performance on which one sells more. Brand loyalty will sway a lot of the buying market in that niche.

Nate, the supersnake exceeds the price range they were comparing in.
Also I believe it was motor trend that tested the hpe650 against the supersnake.

True, I just thought I'd toss it out there for the heck of it since both the SLP and the Shelby are kinda in house tuners for Chevy and Ford.
