I am kind of "redoing" my PC setup and needed to know something. First off the computer is a Dell Demension 4700... I just bought a DoubleSight 24" LCD monitor, and Skye wanted one of those stupid ergonomic wireless keyboard/mouse so I got that to and now I am wanting to get a new case. I need to know if everything from my Dell with just swap over into this case or what...? and no, I don't do any gaming, I just want something "neat" looking and that has a cover for the drives so landon can't just walk up and start pushing buttons

I would be using everythign form the Dell tower if possible, includingthe power supply so the cheap P.S. that comes with it isn't an issue... I am not all that knowledgable with computers, I have added drives, added memory,, sound cards, video cards and that type of stuff but nothing major... Also looking for some recomendations on a good audio setup for it, something LOUD and something I can hook my own subwoofer/enclosure up to.

You need to find out what type of motherboard (MOBO) it has, the drives will all swap. Most cases include a power supply (PSU), if the one you're looking at doesn't, you need to check that too.

how so I find out what MOBO my dell has?

as for the power supply, can't I swap that from the dell to the new case as well?

I haven't done it in awhile, you might be able to find the standards somewhere, IIRC it's called ATX for the most common format. The PSU also would need to be ATX format.

OEM's like to use custom stuff for packaging, anything but standard won't bolt in.

looks like the 4700 uses a Micro ATX MOBO and a 305W ATX power supply....

so it shoudl work as teh cases allow for ATX and Micro-ATX... right?
Would it be worht upgrading the power supply while doing the swap? I don't plan to add a video card but a nice sound card is also in the near future...

well, make sure whatever case you get specifies micro ATX, I'm not sure how different they are.

Sound cards have noisy internal amps, so whatever you get you should run line-out to a receiver/amp.

You shouldn't need to upgrade the PSU unless your adding more hard drives, lights, fans, like a powerful/multiple graphics card.

OK... Thanks for the help... I don't plan on adding any other drives, as i've got a cd/dvd player and a cd/dvd burner, only thing I was to add is a decent speaker system/sound card. Factory Dell one isn't TOO bad but as always, I need something louder and with more bass ;)

Had to put this on hold for the time being due to the whole ticket/fine/impound situation but I did get my new monitor. Heres a pic next to the old 18" dell monitor. Next week I will tell you how I got this $600~ monitor BRAND NEW, with a 3-year warranty for only $53!
