so i have my car tuned in speed density so i am throwing out the maf, most people just put (3in or so) stainless tubing in its place in the intake tract but i had the idea of having you guys make me a ring that has outlets/bungs on each side for dual NX shark nitrous/fuel nozzles, i made a quick design of my idea to give you something to look at, can you guys do this, and how much? thanks!

heres my design

and heres a pic of my engine bay from a last winter, it would be going where the maf is between the tb and air lid..

So your basically looking for a stainless piece with two nitrous bungs on each side to replace the maf?

why are you going to weld in bungs? Wouldnt you just thread and tap for the nitrous nozles like any other import kit.

And why not alluminum for lighter weight like deans car is set up?

Aluminum with some bungs is what I would do, cheaper and lighter as well, The reason the Bungs need to be there is for more threads, cant thread much in something 1/16" thick.

FiFdY- What size and how long of pipe is that, I might have some left over of polished 3.5"

3.5 would probably work, i might need a coupler to attach the the lid to also

I was planning on doing it in aluminum. No need for stainless. The bungs are so you have enough threads to properly tighten the nitrous fittings. Tapping a 16gauge pipe would result in 1 maybe 2 threads. That simply isn't enough.

I have 3",4" and possibly 3.5" pipe. Jesse may have some polished 3.5" left over but we will see.

I can make it out of aluminum for you, give me a call.

not to be mean, but did you not see what thread this was in? There is a reason I am a supporting Vendor.

If you do need some aluminum tube I might have some 3.5 and 4" left over from the tailpipes

Fifdy are you wanting a ring like what TNT had for there nitrous kits for the LS cars? they had made it for the stock size tbs for the ls1 and ls2 motors but the ls2 is 90mm when the ls1 is 75 or 78mm...

Trevor I would also want a price on 1 of these rings for a stock ls1 tb

Just get ahold of me when you'd like it. Show me what you want and I'll build it for you.

hey trevor, im also looking into having you make something like this bracket to hold nitrous/fuel/purge selenoids and it has a place to mount the catchcan i need to get from you, this will be mounted on the front of the passenger side head, how much to fab something like this up, with the catchcan and nozzle ring? lmk thanks! i'll hopefully get a chance to drop my car off soon for all this..

I don't understand what the welds are for on that plate, a simple brake and alluminum will bend that up just like the one we did for my TA> you will allso have to run a nitrous blow down tube that will have to come out the bottom of the car to be nhra tech"able!

FiFdYnUtZ

yeah, it makes me cringe thinking about drilling that big of a hole right there in the floor of my car for the blowdown tube :(

You can allways put it in the back so its less visible. But still even back there it has to have one since there is no fire wall inbetween the nitrous and the driver, either way its still another retarted pain in the ass rule!

yeah i was origionally going to put it in the spare tire area but i said eff it and decided to go this route, although i got a braided blowdown tube with bulkhead to run under the rear seat so i dont have to drill any holes for the tube..

why are you giving up on the up tuners to go speed density? Not saying that that's any worse by any means

FiFdYnUtZ

my car has always been tuned in speed density kitch, the maf is just there because i havent taken it out...you can tune SD with hptuners..

Well shows how much I know about hp tuners and sd.

You can fit a 15lb bottle in there pretty easily. Nice and sneaky like.

FiFdYnUtZ

yeah i had one mounted there back in the day, it was rather sneaky like, but im sayin eff it and going for the convenience of reaching back to open/remove the bottle..

YOU AINT DOIN SHIT I GOT THAT LOCKED UP IN THE GARAGE!! LOL Actually i think theres a rubber plug under the seat that you could put it threw so you dont have to drill.

FiFdYnUtZ
11-29-2009, 06:38 PM
haha shit! i need some bolt cutters! but yeah there is a plug, i have my cutout wiring running through the passenger one, so i will probably put the blowdown through the drivers side..
