Hey all, just found this place and figured i would join to meet others in the area!

Currently I am a stay at home dad, and loving every minute of it!

I am in the process of building my 80 Mustang Cobra, Which I just finished the body work and painted it about a month ago. It's had a lot of different combo's in it, and back in about 98 I converted it to efi and a five speed.
This winter I am yanking it's current H/C 302 to put in a built 2.3T.
I also have my 85 SVO, an 87 LX with a 2.3T, 65 Mustang Coupe, 89 EB Bronco that my wife bought me and my Daughter for Christmas from CA, a 97 Vert, and a retired CRPD P71.

Look forward to getting to know you guys!

Scott- Are you in Cr?

85XR- Thanks! It has been a labor of love.
Being that my dad was an awesome body man, I had no clue what I was going to do when he died.
I am happy that I apparently did learn a lot from him when it comes to body work!

I was just lookin at your posts on FEP, were you still looking for a four eye for your wife in the area? I can keep my eyes open. I think there is a guy who has an 79-84 hatch thats sitting in the field behind his house, looks pretty solid but has just been sitting there right off Hwy 20 for years now.

I hear you about the body work aspect, I am just starting to do more body work to my Mercury. I am not as lucky as you to have had someone like your dad, I have to take from what I have read, and seen on tv (As silly as it sounds I pick up alot this way). My car has a little rust and needs some sheet metal on the rear quarter panels behind the wheel wells but I think I can handle it.

Hey it's not silly, sometimes all it takes is hearing the proper way to do it, then putting it into practice!

We are kind of Looking still I have a 79 to go look at sometime here soon. Otherwise we may just build the 65 for her.

I must say I like your XR, I had an 85.5 that I had to junk as the torque boxes were rotted away as well as the front frame rail/strut tower. I would lean on you to keep it a 2.3, but I am a bit partial :)

One of my Bud's here has an 86 TC with the Ford Motorsport Ground effects kit on it.
Another has a few 88 TC's, one of which has 1400 original miles on it!

They really make for some neat comfy cars!

Actually I used to work at Mickeys. One day long ago We waived at each other on like 46th by your house, back when you were driving the red 94-5 GT and I was in my SVO.
When the Green 94-5 with the sump in it/cobra showed up, was about the time I drove by and saw the Notch in the garage and the hoist :)
Needless to say I was jealous!!! I was always going to swing by if I saw ya out, but in this day and age & after having one of my Garages broken into I'm not too nuts about just "dropping by".

Scott

nah dont be afraid to stop by if you ever see us out or in the garage, of course its hard to tell if Im in the garage anymore since I only have one window and its too cold to be outside anymore.. Its all good, maybe in the spring time or something, does your little girl like race cars? My brother and I race modifieds at hawkeye downs, its always nice to put a smile on someones face when they get to watch the races and see the race cars up close and personal.

I will remember that next time I am that way!
My little one Just turned Two, and has a Love hate thing with loud cars :) She loves to be in them, hates to be around them!
My 7 Yr old loves going fast, and she had a blast in the spring when we went to HD for the Wreck Em and Race Em.
I appreciate the offer, May have to take you up on it when it gets to that season again!

Yes it does Man.
When I was younger I don't think I truly believed I could love someone so much I would be willing to kill/be killed for them. Guess I learned!

And thanks!
I figure I have my work cut out for me when they hit the boy age......

Been away for quite a while. The P71 i long gone, and my wife's 97 is gone.

She got an 80 Notch factory v8 car to build, and for Mother's day I re-did an 88 Vert for her that I am getting ready to drop a 2.3T into.

Had some issues with my Cobra so I ended up digging into the parts pile and I threw a Low mileage GT40 engine in it with a procharger :) Got it back on the road last weekend.

Here's the wife's Notch amazingly rust free

The vert when I brought it home
It was white from the factory and had a bad gray paint job on it

and how it looked three weeks later after I stripped it and painted it. Door molding is now back on
