Im all ready torn into my winter project. Been getting the car ready to take to Tab-Fabrications do get a whole list of products made. Including:

-V-Band Tubular SS Exhaust manifold
-4" V-band SS Downpipe
-Lower and upper intercooler piping
-10 Aluminum Catch Can
-Valve Cover Catch can modification
-5" Aluminum Intake.

Here is some pics of the car missing a few things. Thread will be updated as the progess continues. 2010 Goal: 830whp on stock motor.

You should do a pump gas map. Im always more impressed with pump gas street car then race gas.

The goal is easly reached and i could push more but I dont want to push the stock motor that far. The same setup with a built motor the next year will make 1000+

that would kill the Value of the car, and they stock rear ends are good for 7 seconds. So is the stock 6 speed!! Turbo 400 is popular but again kills value of the car, If i wanted a track car for the money i spent on this i could have bought a 800+whp Turbo 400 car that runs 8.50's all day. But i didnt want that.

Supras are for road racing, independent suspension is not for drag racing.

in all reality a supra is a great candidate for roadracing. put the car on a diet with a medium sized turbo that spools up decent then some aftermarket suspension. but it doesnt live until its on the highway eating vipers :supz:

My old turbo engine was like 2400 hp and was good for something around 7.40's every 120 passes you needed to replace the rods. Thanks but no thanks.

I do like working on them! LOL I have now some new things to teach myself in this car, first was a wire tuck and redo, and now on to the Engine harness tuck and redo, and then sanding and preping the engine bay for paint.

Yes the cost of MKIV's are very pricy but they are down a little from what they used to be. When its all said and done the car should be worth 60+ I have a guy willing to give me 45k for it right now. but only other thing im intrested in is a Skyline and thats 80+ right now

Dig is by far the best way to race, but for once in a million years I think a roll race with these 2 cars would be pretty sweet. Big turbo roll race king supra vs sprayed/sc'd cobra engine'd car.

how much did your car put down Stangvortech. The motor is being built. Stock they can handle 850-900whp anyways.... But Im doing everything at once. I prob wont run full boost on the street im not sure it will hook even with the Mickeys and suspension work I have on it.

Yea, I want to do a dig and a roll. Before winter it did 500/500 even at the wheels (brake in tune). But over spring break it will be getting a new tune and much more thrown at it. I think it would have been a good race with your stock motor and my stock motor but if you build it I dont think I have a chance but I'm willing to find out.

Thats because the upper oil pan is part of the bell housing, in order to remove it I had to take out that engine stand bolt. Let me tell you the upper pans are stuck on good.

the reason I ask is I do polishing, i have for a very long time, and I am very confident in my work and feel I can polish anything you want just as good if not better and keep it local. there are many people on this fourm that can attest to that.

Josh ill contact you when i get closer to wanting the polishing done, as of right now my focas and funds are on geting the motor done and put back together. ordered my pistons and rods along with ARP hardware. went with BC rods with Custom aged ARP rod bolts. and CP shelf pistons that guys have used for over 1500whp.

Whats the deal on these "custom aged" rod bolts?? Havent heard of that process before, I am going to be ordering new rod bolts for my engine soon since they've been tightened and loosened at least 10 times so far. I have heard the L-19 bolts can be a disaster waiting to happen if you touch them with your bare hands because of a chemical reaction that can weaken them.

ARP Custom Age 625+ Fasteners is what they are called brian crower is now using them in his rods and Carrillo (best rod for a 2jz) has been using them for years, i just dont want to spend $1,600 or Carrillo rods that would be over kill for me as guys push 1700+whp with Carrillos.

Its somthing to look into Scotty The L19's guys have been using for head studs as they are way stronger than normal I had a set in my evo but wont need them in the supra.

Jesse what cams you put in? Something like hks 264's or you doing 272"s. I see crower has some also. I know the cobra guys swear by cp pistons and then diamond are good also.

The car had HKS 272's allready in it. I pulled them out and sold them. Going GSC S2 cams. Seem to be on of the best grinds out right now. Was going to go Kelfords but cant find any dyno results with them over other cams.

Well since I have some time on my hands but limited weight lifting looked up a lot of stuff on various cars. Saw some video of similar supras vs a few 1k bikes... Already had hks 272's awesome... Just made me feel better...

You know my friend I'm not being a azz but w major pain and so on that made me feel better to hang w that car, almost as good as the bike or red camaro or evo or duster deal...Considering I have done lil seriously I have got my monies worth for the fun factor even for iaf ppl watching. Ya the car did have cams in it, not much boost though 21lbs and just 93 octane, made 610. Seemed like it was breaking up a bit on me that night. the turbo i had to was old school journal bearing. This car is going to be a night and day diffrance now. good times rob good times.

Well I would be updating this with news on new stuff but only update is I have ran some wiring for my fuel pumps and got my clutch ordered, things are being polished and got all new OEM timing stuff. I would have the motor in now but have been waiting 11 weeks now for the machinging and pistons/rods to be put in..... :Hangman:

well I had enough waiting around wasting time, so I took the motor home, going to put it together with some friends and have the head cleaned and checked at D&R then puting the new valves/springs/cams in the head... 13 weeks was way to long. I do have the blocked painted and ready to go though.

I'd bet money on that! My block sat that for over a week just waiting to be hot tanked. Yeah, a week don't seem like a long time but for something that takes 2 minutes of work (putting the block in, pushing a button, pulling the block out) it was WAY too long! I will never go to Sperry's again for any type of work, I stop in once in a while to buy shit but only because they are so close...

Worked out good for Horn though because they have made close to $10K off me in the last 2-3 months. It seems like if you aren't spending an ass load of money, Sperry's don't give to squirts of piss...

Ive been friends with Scott for a long time. I just spent $4500 there two months ago and then had some issues and needed to get the motor put back togeather as fast as possible. He was doing just the machining. Took two weeks to bore one hole. i went to pick it up and he did'nt say one word about taking it. He acted like he did'nt give a shit.Then I found out him lying to me about when he shipped parts out and parts he supposably ordered. He seems to have a trend going up there and thats people taking thier stuff to other shops. Kara is a bitch and it will catch up with him.

Motor is in, no trans, waiting on clutch and injectors/rail I have the radiator in now after this pic and there is still the downpipe and TB/intercooler piping that needs to go in along with some other random stuff.

They are a JDM company been around since 1979 I guess but only in the states for the last few years. Its pretty trick. I got the R3C Triple mettalic race clutch. http://www.osgiken.net/index.html If anyone is intrested contact Import Evolution as they are a Dealer.

Looks pretty similar to the quarter master clutch in the circle track with the exception of a few small things. I just wanted to see if they had any special gadgets or something built in I havent heard about before, looks to be a quality piece but cant tell much from the website.. I need to check out your car and go for ride sometime

LOL, well day was not the best but could have been alot worse. after runing into some miss fires and stuff we narrowed it down to a bad injector. (yes only 200miles on them!) so the car is running and has been runing on 5 maybe 5 1/2 cylinders depeding on if the injector is spraying at all but when shuting it off the car does not change. it still put down 540 whp @ 19psi. on the mustang dyno, pump gas. (590 on dynojet) my gues is its down 60hp from that cylinder.

Im geting the injector fixed then heading back in a few months I got a bunch of other stuff to get done and the car can wait, it runs and drives perfect and dont leak anything so a simple injector fix and she will be seeing 1000whp in no time.
