I sold the body of the coupe yesterday and have started a new project. It is going to get a little 347lsx single turbo setup. Cant wait to finish it I just love hatch backs, so much easier to put cages in lol. I will keep you updated http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=23&pictureid=996

LSX!! what a homo! j/k that will be sweet. as many foxs as you have been around and what not have you or any of your friends ever run the H.O fibertrends doors? I really want a set since they work with factory roll up windows but drop 30 pounds a door off your car.... sory for hijacking your thread

I took this year off since my wife and I just had a daughter nov. 2008 ,family is always first. We also have another one on the way in june, so I need to get it done lol. I will have some progress pics this weekend, and everything is already purchased for this car, so getting it finished shouldn't be a problem.

Yea, that's what serious 03 cobra guys do, anything off the front is really good on those. Cheap and looks stock.

This actually is more of an update on the parts for the engine. I have been machining a custom 92mm throttle body on the bridgeport all manually made and will be finished soon ,still haven't had time to make the shaft and throttle blade for it. I also have some photos of the intake elbow I made to accommodate the big tbody, the tbody and intake elbow will be getting my (SM) icon CNC engraved also. Getting closer, it just sucks the days are so short lol. http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=26&pictureid=923 http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=26&pictureid=925 http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=26&pictureid=957 http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=26&pictureid=956 http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=26&pictureid=918

That part looks familiar.... got alot of work left on that throttle body, should be cool to see how it turns out when its done. I thought you were gonna put a BBC in the coupe, then changed your mind to a big windsor, and now a small lsx motor? Wasnt your coupe already 25.5 certified also?

yeah it was mild steel only weighed to much with my fat ass in it, ended up selling the shell and picked up the hatch you see . I really missed having my hatch back, thats the reason I really did it. I was going to run a BBc but I priced stuff out and couldnt build one I would have liked for a price I could afford lol. So I was humbled to build a smaller boosted motor. The way I look at it , theres always someone who will go faster, why break the bank to have fun.

some updates, I finished decking, put the receiver groves in the block, checked all bearing clearances, all is good. I also machined an adapter that uses a MSD44 magneto on the ls1 block (cam driven ,must be 50% of crank shaft speed). sorry for the terrible photo http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=23&pictureid=1049

Looks nice. I can't tell, but are those LS7 or L92/LS3 heads? 6.0L iron block I assume? I guess they are probably L92's or ls3 as the bore on the 6.0 would be tight to fit the valves of LS7 heads. I see you can get the six bolt LS7 heads from GM now or the TEA or trickflow stuff, but thats all for LSX blocks.

Theres a real badass LS-X motor over in the Iowa City area, I heard rumors of 400cfm heads, and making power in the 4 digit range NA with a carb on top. Going in a damn nice car too

No need for 6 bolt heads, I never ran them on my fords, top fuel cars have 4 bolts also. They are welded and ported to the max 317s, heads should flow about 360cfm with the 2.08 valves, and the block is a 5.3l with a 3.905 bore, BME aluminum rods, and custom wiesco pistons,, which makes it a 347ci. No need for big cubes, especially with the turbo. I will be running it on a mechanical fuel injection, a magneto setup, no radiator and running methanol with 30 psi of boost.
Scott

METHANOL!! Get that figured out and it it should haul the mail pretty good, mechanical fuel injection and a magneto should be interesting to tune with a turbo

I know it's just easier with the six bolt heads (and more expensive ;). I couldn't tell as the pictures made the ports look like rectangular ports not cathedral. I take it's going to be solid roller for some good rpm? Using the stock main caps or aftermarket? I've seen good results with the stockers with dowels to keep the caps in place. Thats a nice setup I really like the mag setup on the front cover.
NitrousMike

yeah it should run good, I want to keep weight down to a minimum, and seems the logical way to go.

I am just running the stock caps with dowels. I will be running a solid for sure and is actually a small .700 lift nitrous grind with a 115lobe sep. I designed. Since the back pressure will be 1:1 at high boost, I believe it should work great with the methanol's nearly doubled fuel volume and exhaust mass, and should be great spooling huge turbos faster then any gas setup can achieve.

yeah I will have her finished, need to finish building the custom billet aluminum intake manifold, and plum the mechanical fuel injection, and put a bad ass paint job on the car.

got the wheels all mounted, narrowed the rear 1 1/2 on each side and put a 29.5x 10.5 tire under it. The wheel looks like its going to rub in the pic, but its just an illusion. When I have the car on the ground the rear tires go into the wheel well about 2 in. and have 1 1/4 inch clearance all the way around. http://www.cvmusclecars.com/picture.php?albumid=23&pictureid=1218
