Need to have a wheel bearing pressed out of my hub assembly and new pressed in. Where should I go to have this done? Especially convenient areas would be in North Liberty and I could drop it off on my lunch break.
just let me know a shop/location that you know of.
thanks

theirs a big mower place in NL that does a lot of bearing stuff. I wonder if they'd mind a car one? Bearing and seal cost me $60 I dont really want it getting messed up and have to get another.

Well, I talked to them about it. Charging me about $72 an hour and they expect it to take 2 hours. Seems pretty much outrageous but I left it and expect nothing short of perfection. I brought them the spindle off the car, with new bearings and seals.

Well final cost was $98. So total cost with my own labor involved for most of the work is $171 for 1 wheel bearing.
Going to try another route for the next bearing...

Makes me appreciate my dad's work that much more. Having access to a 20 ton press rules. I paid thirty for the bearing in my old car, and did the pressing work myself there. Saved me a TON.

Colton, come on man. I could've done it for you for free. Had I not be going to Chicago to finish up my Kia Master training. But yea if you need something done, give me a call.

Well I got back on Friday night. I have to leave again monday night. Class is tuesday through friday. At the end of friday Ill be a Kia Master tech. Uh, if I'm gone, call Trevor. My hubshark is at the shop. See if you can use that to work it. I haven't gone and bought a press yet, but that will be coming soon along with the lift and other equipment. :supz:

I have a feeling I missed something funny. Im hearing the rears dont require a press. I'm looking into it more now, that would be nice though.

Are you serious? The drain plug just spun out huh? That is truly wierd. I didn't actually touch it at all, honestly never would have even thought to just try and spin it out. Yea that guy with the taurus came in and we were damn busy. I told him it would probably be you fixing it on monday. I saw you guys were just busy as hell last week. People must be starting to worry about it snowing lol. You ready for the snow rush?

I bought a bolt extractor kit from MAC I was drilling it and it just spun and then went out by hand.
