10" converter!! I dont know how much that small engine and big turbo will like that low of a stall.. My 7 liter nitrous engine stalls at 4000 with a 9.5" converter.

Pretty neat. Why the honda manifold, that wastegate entry is horrible.

I would think you would know this Trevor, It is an Evo 8,9 t3 manifold. cast simply because daily driver all year round. Dont want a cracking manifold issue.

Pretty neat. Why the honda manifold, that wastegate entry is horrible.

I would think you would know this Trevor, It is an Evo 8,9 t3 manifold. cast simply because daily driver all year round. Dont want a cracking manifold issue.

Never seen any evo8/9 with that manifold. I have seen countless hondas with them though...

Why not a turbonetics cast manifold, or an HKS copy? The wastegate entry on that manifold is just crap, you should know this Trent :butthead:

Well if you run enough boost you dont need the wastegate entry right ;)

Looks to be, that's why that pipe comes up by the intake manifold.

Do I sense a little hostility in this thread?

neat car, I was planning to throw a 1JZ in my Torino but got talked out of it rather quickly. Ended up doing pretty much the oppsoite instead and threw a SBF stroker in my RX7...

Lol, I need to get to work on the car I have before I buy another project. I am a "One at a time" guy. As I said, someday I will have all the projects I have wanted to put a SBF in. (Volvo, Miata, RX7, etc. etc etc)

I hear ya... it's not much of a project anymore thank god, just finishing the body work, then paint and she's finaly done! took it to the track once and busted the T-5 to pieces so I had to throw in a C4 which meant I had to change the driveshaft and while it was parke dI decided to change some stuff up so it has been sitting since like June :baby:

back to the topic: whats the weight on that thing? just curious about the power/wieght ratio and if the lack of low end torque is going to come into play?

DustinsDuster
08-23-2009, 05:29 PM
Stock mopar A bodies usually weigh around 3100lbs with a V8, I would assume they'd be able to keep the weight WELL under 3k with full interior, heater, etc.

drfast4ward
08-23-2009, 06:26 PM
about 2500 lbs torque wont be an issue :)

are you planning on taking anything out of it? fiberglass hood at all? tubular front suspension? weld wheels? i just really have a hard time seeing the car getting that light if everything is stock except the 4G63/PG combo...

drfast4ward

Weighed the FrankenDart today, with most parts installed it tips the scales at 2703lbs with full stock interior and bench seat, all steel with stock bumpers.

define "minor surgery"...

most of it involved removing weight dodge added in the 73 and later, the large rubber bumper gaurds, the crash bars behind bumper ( bumper within the bumper ) lightening the front bumper support brackets, remove the rear bumper shocks.

Then removed the heater assembly, that was only about 15lbs

Thinking about getting fiberglass hood and trunk .... and maybe some A100 seats

maybe get to 2450 lbs ????

why would you take the heater out? thought it was going to be a daily driver?

A100 seats would look a little out of place in a mid 70's car- they're more accustomed to the mid 60's max wedge cars.

I woudnt drive it in weather that woud require heat, I still consider that a street car that is DD-able... ( have other cars to abuse in the winter :-) )

The a100 buckets wouldnt look bad if recovered to match the rest of the interior and they will save over 50lbs of weight compared to the stock bench seat..
