im attempting to get ahold of some headers and y pipe for my camaro. will be getting rid of the cats when i do this. and was curious if anyone around here would be able to tune my o2's out of the ecu for me..or if anyone came up with a better solution. dont want to spend the 120 bucks for 2 o2 simulators. lemme know thanks

Looked into the same thing for the ETC...

$120 for the O2 simulators will probably be cheaper than a tune anyways... I think that would be more of a re-flash or something though wouldn't it? Like when you remove EGR stuff and don't want the CEL to come on...?

o2 sim is exactly what it sounds like...i plug these simulators into the actual o2 plugs. and they are wired a certain way that it tells the ecu that the car is at a certain reading all the time, to where it wont throw a code at all...and the car will still make all of its adjustsments on the front 02 sensros...btw these cars have 4 o2s in them...2 on each bank before the cats, and 2 after on each bank

Use that scan tool to scan your crotch to see if there is a penis down there.

A lot of the stuff you say Mufflover is borderline retarded, but this made me lol.

yeah, i know what they are... I was saying i think what you re lookign for would be more of a "flash" type thing than a tune... but i have no useful information for you so i am out...

not looking for flamage or anything. but im rather clueless when it comes to tuning and stuff..but what exactly can i gain with a speed density tune? or what are the benefits of it. vs just tuning with my maf?

unless your a force induction car, you would not gain anything from a sd tune, the maf trims out the ve tables by useing real time grams per sec/ and frequency. not just a fuel table based off map kph.

a speed density tune is a far more in depth and advanced tune imo...most people who do maf tunes dont even touch the VE tables..

well im not going to have a ton of mods to tune for...my hopes are getting the headers and eventually do a nice cam....basically just a full bolt ons car. and tune for it..

From all the debate with SD verses MAF it seams there is a lot less headache just keeping the MAF. Old school tuners don't mess with the VE but most modern tuners do.

yep the "cheaters" only tune the maf tables
I tune the ve and maf, becouse even in closed loop the ve tables still affect drivability, keeping the maf will net you better driveability on the street

imo my car drives perfectly for the size of cam it has, i just prefer sd...

I have HPTuners as well but HPT requires "credits" to tune a car. 2 credits for one car or about 100 bucks. Deleting the secondary O2's is just a simple removal from the Diagnostic checklist.

But if your gonna go that route anyway you can also clean up a few things in the tune......, VE tables, MAF calibration, Timing tables, Torque management, etc..... Plus whoever unlocks your car's ECU can change the tune when ever you begin your upgrades.

On a side note:
Interesting topic y'all stumbled onto. Different tuning ideaology's. I'd like to hear more. Maybe in another thread??

I don't have a SD option in the software for my car so MAF and VE are my only options. Though no matter how I change the VE tables it has no effect in closed loop.
