View Full Version : The Silver Snake at CFR yesterday

We took the 95 to CFR yesterday......car has not had a good tune done yet,LOTS of tuneing issues!!!... car pulled very hard, in fact so hard I got too excited and was bouncing 3rd gear off the rev limmiter instead of shifting into 4th(we think that would have made a big difference,lol!)
The car spun most of the way down the track, had a check engine lamp on all the way down the track,lol

11.76@118 1.81 60'

stock lower end, 10 bolt, stock clutch, 100% stock suspension....not to bad for a flood car :bigthumb:
with a few changes to be made, and me shifting into 4th gear :biggrin: ... we are looking for 10's

thanks guys!

the car was named this way due to snakes living in the car! after the flood, the car is silver, and there is and "SS" emblem on the fender.....lol!

nice! with that mod list, i dont see why that car shouldnt be in the 10's...i suppose i should of accepted your track race ;) jkjk

I think you should stop about there, good time, nothing broke, fair amount of competitors in that range. A blow out isn't any fun. That's a good et for that mph esp w a 1.8 60ft. How much that car weigh?

the car weighs about 3500, lol ...were going to put it on a big diet, and cage it soon, it needs to go on the dyno, i have a feeling the car will run about this fast on just the engine. Not to mention I will shift it into 4th gear :biggrin: cause I would bet the I lost atleast a half sec by getting all excited and not shifting :)
would expect the mph should have been in the mid to high 120's.........if I only would have shifted.......lol

^ naw, I think it's all good. Btw my 03 got rear bumper cover tore off yesterday, it will be fixed. 10# lighter now.

Hydroplaned on 30 in the storm, water was several inches deep where working on road. Prob going 30 mph. I can't believe a bumper cover is so much, 560 bucks. George called and said hey you crash cause somebody seen a blue cobra bumper cover on 30 by adm. I was going to look for it to see if useable right then. Found it, loaded it in the van, it was pouring and no it was scratched and torn. It's been a bad few months for me, lots of $. And most not even my doing. Way it is I guess. I always said a cobra azz end was light. So I'm working 1,2,3 of july to make some $ on the holidays. x3 pay.

Dam at least you got some good pay coming!! yeah anything on them cars cobra specific is probably stupid expensive, sorry to hear that.. them hoosier drag radials didnt look the best for the rain.

Ya I guess since I wasn't driving someone else will turn it in on their policy. I'd rather not say here who. Some mech wanted to do 12's, after 8 its x4 but no way they said. I could of done the 5th also.

Hey I need a real sharp person/shop for the villager, deal is it acts like the heat control isn't shutting all the way off on max a/c though the comp/charge is ok. The back gets cold it's got dual ht/air. That's a nissan quest also so if anyone knows all about it I got $. Gonna post this on new post also.
