I was making to much horsepower for my current transmission so I ordered this new one from Neal Racing Transmissions, supposed to be good for 3000+ horsepower.

why do you need that scott? i didnt think you were stressing your glide at all? good choice on the trans; when i skimmed through the post at first, i thought you said you got a trans from Neal Chance- in which case i wouldve choked. even i burnt through one of their converters...

Yeah my glide is all stock except for a upgraded input shaft, upgraded clutch hub that holds one more clutch and a trans brake valve body. I think the next link is the gearset that is rated at approximately 700-800 hp I think..

but Im pretty sure the neal glide is a top notch trans.. Is that a 1.80 first gear in that I would assume?? That car will be a ANIMAL with that trans, I bet you get at least a couple tenths being able to tame down the power a little with a 2 speed.

Scott it is a 1.80 gear set, I was going to use a 1.69 but they don't last as long on the street. As for the gear vendors it won't be this year but for sure over the winter. The trans was big $$$ and the converter well lets just say its a bolt together 10" thats half steel and half aluminum made by Coan. I'm hoping to get it in tonight so that I can get a drive shaft made tomorrow, power should be much more manageable now. I had planned on making the 10.5 race but I just don't have the time.

Where do you have your drive shafts made, and what do they cost?

Driveline Service, its a local drive shaft company. I supplied the Mark Williams slip and pinion yoke and he is charging me $200 for a 4" shaft. So the whole deal cost me $750 with the billet u joint cap straps.

Here is a couple of the converter, its almost a shame to hide it under the car. I hope it all works as good as it looks.

Dont forget to drill out the yoke for the billet caps.. I put my yoke on before I got the billet caps and installed the yoke and I still to this day have normal U-bolts in there cuz I dont feel like pulling off the flange, drilling it and putting in a new crush sleeve, they're a PITA!!

When I ordered the yoke it came pre drilled for the straps, but either way im changing my rear gears and replacing the crush collar with a solid piece. The gears I have now were out of a 98 cobra and are starting to make noise. Good luck at the race today!
