yeah i saw that.... did you read the part where it said "He looked down as he was changing gears, and when he looked up, there was a bus" looked down to shift? must have been new to motorcycles

Yeah could have been new. The only real reason to look down ever is if you're stopped and you're trying to get it into neutral. Even then, as long as you know what gear you're in you should be able to feel it go into neutral.

Maybe legally, but if he doesn't learn to not run into a bus he won't be riding long.

I just had a vision of myself on the highway and my pant leg getting caught in my chain and my bike ripping my pants completely off.

That would be hilarious.

Holey shit. That is a friend of mine from highschool that was riding the bike!? What a small world. He's had a bike for a few years now btw.

as for the looking down to shift gears thing... Officer probably made that shit up off the top of his head. I remember the VERY first time I was ever on a motorcycle, I didn't have to look down to do anything so I doubt someone who has been riding a couple years would.
