Jeff Colvert had keith craft build him a 505 ci fe. Colvert has gone 9's in s.s. w a 69 btw.
422 motorsports guy says his fe wagon makes 960. Paul adams makes 945 w his 430c.i. fe w mod factory heads. Man that's unreal for a 40 yr old engine design to do so well. Anyway Colverts engine pic. Shelby block btw 6 bolt mains. Very light bb engine right around a windsor w alum heads/intake.

not sure I totally understand what the first sentence means Rob but I think this enigne would run in the 8's pretty good.. Not a whole lot of 40yr old design left in that engine though!! It is bad fuckin ass none-the-less

Scott...Jeff colvert, national s/s owner w a 9sec. 69 nhra s/s stang had keith craft/jim kuntz build a engine for a unknown use. Ask cassill he knows colvert. The engine is based upon a ford fe w shelby 6 bolt alum fe block at 505 c.i. Some sort of top secret wedge inline heads, who knows how much valve lift in that solid roller or the comp ratio.

Btw there is a guy already recasting sohc parts with improved sohc heads. They did a lot of flow testing, soon we will have # on those parts. Anyway state of n/a art is about 2.5hp per c.i. w the mountain mtrs, nascar unrestricted.

Look up 422 motorsports sometime they hold the record of worlds fastest nostalgia super stocker w a fe 65 falcon running n/a at 8.41 @ 159 mph. It's a stick also.

You or ur dad can buy a engine also, just 32k...
Btw the fe 505 engine I hear is around 440# in weight.

Kaase is into the 429/460 stuff. His newest parts are the retro improved boss 429 heads w pushrods. Fits right on a old junkyard 429/460 w new valve covers and intake.

Lol well yea it takes a doctorate to remember all the engines ford made, I try on v8's, 2.3, few others. All in all they seem to make some power and still around. Like anything hp costs $.

There's a article on a cammer 427 in hot rod aug 09 magazine by Jay Brown, hot rod power tour guy w a 69 and ford gt. There you can see the Bill Coon cylinder heads w flow figures and dyno numbers w efi n/a. Wish I had one in the 69. uall be scared esp w a lil juice.. Flow figures look good, let me be lucky in the lotto.

Looking around found some good vintage footage of cammer engines running hard. Mickey Thompson car ran that 6.97 at kcir. Out of control action. Look right at the 1 min mark in first video, holy sh-t.....

Video one ya I saw the blue m/t stang at kcir, dad got tickets, we went, I still think they look more real then than now. Now its all decals.

Video 2.. those guys shifted hard, try that w a t56 or t5, it would break the shifter off, bend the forks..

Ok bring this back for the cammer engine in a boat anchor leaf spring 64 galaxie..... It ran in drag week this yr and I didn't think to check the 54 fe forums..sorry, but it does have some power for n/a boat anchor. I believe his best was around a 9.50 140+.
