i just wanna know what to look out for with them. what are common problems besides the damn air suspsension in them

ZEE

They don't have air suspension

Luminatorz34

well that damn electric/air suspension,......there are little electric motors mounted onthe top of the shocks that are just tiny little air pumps that supply air to the suspension

ZEE

They aren't air pumps. They change the valving with the electric motors. Just like turning the knob an a Koni shock or any other adjustable shock. No air involved. I never had to replace the ones on the Super Coupe that I had. I bet they are pretty pricey to replace if they ever went bad. The electronic shocks on my truck are like $400 bucks a piece from GM.

well whatever is happening there, the suspension light is flashing on in the dash, and it was checked out to be malfunctioning due to the lowering springs on the car...still handles good tho

The springs probably have a lot to do with problem. The ride control is all messed up because it was designed for the stock spring height and spring rate. Mine handled good with the stock SC springs. Most lowering springs are more for looks than handling anyways. It would probably handle better and definitely ride batter with the stock springs. So the electronic shocks can properly do their job.

my buddy had a 5 speed on in high school. It was a tq monster. fun car.. but the turbo laser with the "free" mods done to it pulled on it.

My understanding is they dont get much faster from stock without a lot of work. And they have a few odd expensive things to them, such as the suspension and motor mounts...and they are fat pigs on the scale.

I'll trade you my little brothers truck for your talon. ...

he put tires on it when he got it..put a stereo in it...front bumper is fine.....it has a custom exhaust on it..basically right off the manifolds into a 2 into 1 muffler then shoots out the left side of the car in front of the rear wheels

Well if you get it then you can join: http://www.midwestthundercats.com/

I'm sure they could tell you everything you'd want to know about a SC, but of course, they're a bit bias.

I had a 93 TBird. I loved that car. I've always wanted a SC.

newer head gaskets were better a mls type, like any 3.8. I agree w Zee only lincolns had air suspension and are expensive junk yard 250 ea. Those have no steel springs. The sc has a mn90 like the buicks etc.

SC would definatly be a lot more unique- lots of 1st gen DSM's around...

TBird has a real back seat and amble trunk space. Not to mention no crank walk. LOL.

Luminatorz34

my talon has a 6bolt..so no crankwalk any ways

If the tbird hasn't had the pizz beat out of it might be ok, they do have a forged crank etc. special block, they are a good hiway cruiser don't expect them to be like a cobra, about best I've seen a reg bolt on one is low 14's. Like was said they do have electronic bs accs and figure it's getting old. Why I bought a 4.6 tbird, cruises the same, not as fast, less crap to go wrong. It does weigh less than my cobra which surprised me. Don't know about a s/c 3.8 weight.

wow, i thought they would do better than low 14's...its up to his wife..he wants to do the trade, so hes trying to persuade his wife into it. which he says will take a few days haha...might have a new toy here soon, i hope

I remember from the last WFC, there was a group of them there that all had custom kenne bell kits on them from some club they were in. Those were pretty sweet.
