Dropped that tanny in the WRX yesterday to put in a light weight flywheel and 6 puck clutch.... took 5 hours from beginning to end.... then it wouldn't go into gear and the clutch was really stiff.... did some thinking and research to find that i was given the a lightweight flywheel for a 02-05 2.0L WRX.... image my excitement. Brent (Slow4Cyl) was helping me but when we found out that we needed to drop it again I call for some reinforcements. Drifte and Stro drove 40 min to help and we got everything back out and the stock flywheel back in and the car drives fine. I need to adjust the clutch a little bit but i got home at 1am and couldn't move my body. Pictures below, enjoy.

not as bad as you would think really. we had it out and back in, in 5 hours. Thats on ground and rolling. Kinda like a RWD but with two extra axles.

wouldnt have been too bad if we didnt have to do it twice....

How did the stock clutch disc/pressure plate look? Looks like it wasn't too bad, specially with the lift and the tranny jack!

the flywheel side was worn pretty good. you can tell it was slipping. you can see it in one of the pics.

Doing a Subaru without a lift would be a huge PITA. This was no big deal but was a new experience for us all. And so many of the parts have to be on in a certain order due to clearances. That DP has been on and off more times than McKaties stripper clothes.

Looks like a Fidanza flywheel and spec stage 3 clutch. Good Choice!

the flywheel would have been a good choice if they would have sent me the flywheel for the 2.5L and not the 2.0L clutch wouldn't disengage. FUCKS!

did it at a car dealership in Tama. A good friend works there and we can use the shop on Sundays.
