Well just the other day I was wishing I could run a z06... well it happened and it had a s/c and tuned. Roll and a dig. Cobra prevailed, the guy was cool and paid gas money. The sti did a number on it also from a dig. I must say I had approx 2# of n2o and shifted superior to the vette. But it supposed to have 8# boost w bolt ons. That should be close to my # w spray. I was surprised. Damn as usual I'm out of practice, a t56 sucks. But good enough to put many cars on his shifting on the dig. That is #4 z06.

Well it wan't real close it would have to been pointed out back. Maybe somewhat close in 1st gear off a dead stop. I tried 3k w/o a tire warming, my tires didn't hold real well. I believe he had nittos on the vette. I heard a 480 whp #, should have been better imo but I didn't know what to expect. The ls guys were surprised also so idk.

Here's the report on the hoosier 17" 315's... I had 18# tire pressure, at higher speeds some swaying, lot more than the m/t. Don't go around corners at speed. As far as a cold launch, spins at first, heats up, then grab 2nd gear and she will jump pretty good on a good surface w a decent qwik shift. I had 2# n2o probably lot of vapor only so it could do better maybe off a dig and 1/2 shift.

First time I've tried it w any n2o on a dig w these tires. It's still a slow d/d though on 93 w now 10% corn, roadranger stuff. Glad it didn't go poof. 4yr frayed s/c belt, 2 yrs on the tr7ix plugs. I highly recommend these plugs over say a tr6 esp w a weak ford cop setup. They fire easier per the gap setting and last.

he did have nitto 555's on the rear. i also heard he couldnt get into second when he raced the sti. i must say though rob...your car moves out, i was expecting it to be closer...not a bus-length ass whooping haha

I figured it was no that fast of car, people were scared of it. I think its just a regular vette with z06 badges and wheels, didnt look to see if it was a trunk or hatch. He did say it was a 1999 though, and they didnt make z06's till 01. But the 8lbs of boost was right for the vortech kit. should have been making 460hp Crank, at least, but not 488whp like he said. Rob you drug him...We wil see if he comes back.

99 was the first year for the FRC (trunk). Same motor as the coupe with 345 hp little less weight.

It would have been ludicrous to race that vette jesse or scotty racing it on motor. Heck the sti had buslengths on him also, maybe he'll get the shifting down better, idk.

I just got to do a lil more maint. go get the 10# filled up and see what happens on a full one w hot tires.. I've got a new nozzle/ pak of jets too to go w some race fuel.

 got lucky... Imo. I would not say this vette was a typical example of a 480 whp tuned vette. We have seen those take down a 500 whp d/d 03 cobra many times. Roll or dig. Even a 430 whp one isn't to be toyed with imo. They are light, get traction and have the aero.
