so i came across a deal i just couldnt pass up on an engine for my Duster. it ended up coming with a few extra things. time to sell the small block stuff! some people in the know will know this engine- but for everyone else, its not just another dirty core to rebuild. i have to re-think all of my plans for my Duster now!

the B1 engine isnt for sale, but everything to build up a decent 440 is. got all the bearings, rings, forged pistons, Street Dominator intake, never run hydraulic cam, ported 906 heads, steel crank, lightened/resized rods, new oil pump, you get the idea...

and yeah, im not sure how to tell the difference between an 1150 and a 1050 Dominator, but i was told its 1150, and given the rest of the motor, i wouldnt doubt the bigger one. was also told it has a solid roller cam, around .750 lift. not sure on duration...

what is the B1 motor exactly? You mentioned big block, thats about as far as I understood.

the heads are Brodix- and are pretty big. valves are usually 2.30"/1.81 or 1.78. from how i was told this engine used to perform, i would guess the heads are fully ported as well. they utilize offset intake rocker arms to move the pushrod out of the way of the intake ports.

i dont know a lot more of the specs on them, or even which incarnation of B1's they are, but for reference, the stock replacement B1's are capable of flowing over 400cfm on the intake. im not sure if mine are those or the all out race ones, i'll have to get the thing apart first and do some measuring.

im actually kindof surprised Mufflover hasnt chimed in on this yet- if he has the car i think hee does, he'd probably know more about this motor than i do at this point...

I thought B1's were just the heads on a 440 block?

nah- they make B1 heads for smallblock chrysler as well. i actually think B1 is just a name for their line of heads- pretty sure ive seen smallblock and big block chevy B1 heads as well.
