I actually like the c5 zo6 better looks wise and right now it's a bargain. Supposed to have lower insurance rates than the cobra. So my .02 is buy a c5 and have engine/clutch built up. They can take down 99% of most street cars w suitable mods. Surprised Zee has not considered this. Probably take the manual runoff contest.

Saw that on planet as well. Very impressive. First pics I've seen of them in black too, looks really good.
And rob, I think anyone with 100K+ to throw down on a vette or any car, isn't worried about 'bargain' haha. Its a different car for a different market, like Vipers ACRs, Ford GT's, on and on. Just insane power for insane price tags.
I'd still rather have a base C6 over the C5 Zo6. More cubic inches to start out with. More potential. Especially one with the LS3. If I wanted a road race car I would definitely look into a C5 ZO6 though.

C5's are waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper insurance than a 03' Cobra. They cost about the same as my S4 (Z06 or regular C5). I'd switch to a c6 Z06 or ZR1, but thats way down the road for me. I like having all my toys paid for :)

Not with a 03 cobra, my full coverage w all the time coverage costs about 500 every 6 months. Always been that, all different co. some wanted +700.
Just put a ls2/3 block in it. Need to forge the mtr anyways imo. U want 500 whp imo. 25 mpg. 150 shot. Get rid of most pesky cobras/modded turbo s4's. Tell them it's bolt on only. 650 whp will run away and hide from those heavy cars. I worry about a 450 whp c5 z06.

Ya but I'm older than dirt. Back when I got the 69 428cj it was only like 200 every 6 months (74) for full coverage. It's a raping pure and simple imo. Don't know how u guys do it.

Best thing I can suggest with insurance is to check around. Some of the bigger insurance companies can give better rates if you have a decent driving record. I remember back when I was 17/18 I was looking at getting a 97 camaro at that time.
A V6 Camaro = $2,700 every 6 months
A V8 Camaro = $3,700 every 6 months
Never bought one and was paying $600+ for straight minimum liability for a 89 acura integra at that time. I started calling around to look at was able to find insurance for about $200-300 every 6 months on the acura. Then I was able to pick up another car and have the same monthly payments on insurance but with 2 cars.

im paying $975 every six months for the WRX and $850 a year for the bike. It sucks but its the best deal I can find because my house and everything is going through the same company.
