Has anyone done their own powdercoating?

I picked up a powder coat system at work because it was on clearance for forty bucks and would like to know if anyone has any tips for a beginner. I only plan to do small parts, mainly the rearsets and other things on my bike. Nothing big or extravagant.

What should I prep the surface with? Would acetone or something of the like do fine?

I might try this stuff, unless someone has a cheaper option.

Always use a good wax a grease remover. You can pick alot up from a local supplier alot cheaper. Try a Dupont, or PPG there top of line.

Luckily my parts are small enough a toaster oven is going to work well enough for me. DIY on the cheap dammit!

Arnolds will actually have powder too, if you go to the one is Ankeny. I used to work there, so if you go to ankeny talk to Eric, or Raymond in ames.
