Impressive times for the street tires. Imo what is funny is how before zr1 having a factory s/c.... having a s/c that was cheating, etc. etc.... now it's the tits.... :supz:

eh, theres some give and take there. apples and oranges, like the z06 to the gt. show me an 03/04 cobra running 10's stock. not happening. and a z06 with 1000rwhp stock bottem end, doubt it. basically fuck hyundai

for the apples to oranges i agree beacause comparing a 22,000 dollar car to a 90,000 to 100,000 dollar car isnt going to make alot of sense no matter wich one you prefer over the other.

exactly. Price usually gets overlooked. Thats the beauty of selection, many different routes you could go.

i think rob was getting at ls1 guys complaining about cobras and how the supercharger is "cheating"

"but but but if you put a supercharger on the camaro"

I understood exactly what he was getting at. But a Cobra to an Ls1 is apples to oranges. look at the prices of both of those two.

I'd like to see a camaro ls3, w pistons and the s/c setup for say 3.5k 4k extra. 8# boost. That's right around what a 03/04 cost extra back in the day. For the lil guy. 500 hp, make the tune rich at wot and cut timing. Then retune it, get around 500 rwhp.

didn't 03/04's start at 39k? that's 10 more than my car, or just around 25%. only ls1's that expensive were the special edition versions.

D/d, I have for 03 year 34,750 for coupe and 38,995 for convertible. What dealers tried to charge was another story. I heard 39k myself and left the building.

Almo had the fastest "stock" 03 cobra, It had tires and weight reduction and sra, went a 11.01 at 126 stock boost 8#... W a 2.75 upper pulley went 10.84 at 129.. w upper and lower (right around that vette boost #) went 10.69 at 128. Weight I believe was around 3250 w/o driver.

Btw that vette isn't stock. But way superior by looking at the mph. It should go a 10.0 or hi nines. Come on it has to be faster than that 3275# cobra jet 5.4l stang rated at 425 nhra crank hp. Only reason I mention that cj is it has the tvs s/c and close to same weight.

Don't know what cobras were selling for. Camaros in 99 were $24K for Z28, and almost $30K for an SS and the Z28 convertibles.

so when your talking special edition vs. special edition they are about the same.... wouldnt that make them a good set to compare?

The 10.98 I was refering to was done by a stock z06.

You could if you wanted to, but that gets hazy. I was refering to SS prices. The special editions were extremely limited production, with no performance gains unless SLP which was still available to non SE's too. IMO SS was the equivalent to Cobra badging, where z28 was comparable to GT, even though the z28's and SS's have no power differences.

If you look at todays market though, cobra's value is much higher. But its newer, was made over a smaller period of time, and has a much larger market. Their prices today reflect that, and thats why I say apples to oranges. Same way I would compare a 97 Cobra to a 98 SS.

I spent all last summer going heads up against an 03, apples to oranges or not they still get pitted against each other, and the best way I can sum it up is you get what you pay for. In general its a better car with a forged bottom end and blower, but with a much steeper price tag.

The 02 camaros I know cost more than the 99's, then there had that 02 slp version at 39k.

I could of bought a brand new 03 at 32750 but I liked the blue one and it already had a s/s exhaust on it and the stock exhaust in the corner of garage. I thought what's 1200 mi. just broke in.

Dragging up the ranger deal.... let's put that one to rest. That air will never be there again like that. East coast strip -1400 altitude or something like that. Time for a ls7 or zr1 to put that away. Joe avg. what does he run at a avg track? Hi 11's...low 12's.

Let me go on record and say I like the lsx, the vette and f body. You guys provided me with good info and fine street testing. Maybe this yr make it to the track more often.
