First time a new vs old cj race at pomona winternationals... fast forward to around 2.00 min. New, the 5.4 s/c auto 08 ford racing cobra jet vs a old 69 428 auto cobra jet. Basically a 425 hp 08 vs a 375 hp 69 as factored. The 08 has a 330 4v c.i. tvs s/c at approx. 15# boost vs a n/a 428 ford fe, ran like handicapped/bracket racing cars in stock class. 08 in a/sa, 69 in c/sa. Notice I said stock class, like nascar it is very specific on any modifications. Yes, the 08 pedals throttle at the finish. 08 runs low 10's 131 btw at nhra # of approx. 3.3k. 69 around 10.8 121. All in the nhra specs. It appears Gary Stinnett goes for the win in the 08. Anyway this is history being made..

History 101, Ford prepped 50 428 cj, cleaned house in 68 winternationals so in 09 they try to do the same w new car. Rained out, no finals, monday they will try. Calvert in a man. Stinnett in a auto. Handicapped Weight fixed, mods fixed. There is no cheating. Tear down and specs checked. If not ok, you don't count.

Btw use hi quality much clearer and you can clearly see the 69 lost by +.015 sec. he ran a 10.868 121.45 instead of 10.85. Stinnett ran right on the money a 10.173 131.63 within +.003 it appears and crossed finish line first.

New cj looks to be a great car w some left in it. I just like the cobra jet ok cause I got one. At a young age saw them race and at the dealership so it was a big deal for me. Neither these cars are real light, nhra has weights at around 3.2, 3.3k.

I'm not real fond of big car co. takes over the lil guy but truly to get other 2 on board we need some stirring up.
