Stalker? Trolling? Yeah don't flatter yourself. I really don't care that much. It looked like it was turning in to the guessing game so I threw up mine. Nice looking car though. Can't wait to see it run.

I call BS, I have an 07 silverado with a 5.3 that the motor was replaced at 50,000 miles and it still has piston slap it runs awesome but noisy when cold. I like the truck but how hard is it to set piston to wall clearance.

what? an 07 needed a new engine at 50k, and the new one makes noise too?..quality product.

...or is it not so stock.

I worked for GM dealerships for 10yrs.
Its known for some gen 3 & 4 engines to make noise on cold start up....(piston noise) i've only seen a couple engines replaced, those were extreme cases.
Somtimes its carbon build up in the cylinders, and a carbon flush fixed the the problem for a wile.
this is a small problem in compairison to the 3.1, 3.4. 3.8, 4.3, 5.7("r" vin.) engine's problems with the intake gaskets failing.
We own a Ls1 Camaro(does it on cold start up after sitting for a wile), and an 07 Silverado with the 5.3L(does not do it yet, just over 10,000 mi so far)
I agree the price we pay for stuff....would make you think it would never have problems
and now were bailing them out.

my 99 silverado with a 5.3L did it. Had a 143k on the clock and never hurt the performance and usually went away before I was out of my neighborhood. But like fiddy said, usually in modern LS engines it shouldn't be an issue, so Ryan your 07 is kind of surprising. Oh well, atleast its not a mod motor huh :yawinkle:

don't get me wrong, I will always be a GM man. And I have never owned anything but GM.
I just ticked off about the whole bail out thing, you know using our tax dollars to save companies, banks, etc... and in turn they make a profit off of us, just disapointed they did not go about it differently, thats all.

all cars break. But In my opnion, there is not a better brand than GM.

Oh well, at least its not a mod motor huh....

Well they haven't asked for any $ either which makes me happy in general. Either the old way of hand select parts works or somebodies parts are loose in tolerance. I wasn't going to say but 3 5.3's in work parking lot sound like a diesel at 0 deg on start. Sh-t my forged stock piston 03 pos doesn't sound like that. My old trw .005 ptw clearance junk mtr 428 sounds better, well known for piston noise. My solution is just get louder exhaust. :supz:

The mod motor comment was kind of aimed at ryan as a joke... cause he definitely would never own one of those. Sarcasm is lost on the internet.

Me too.. just glad I'm not bailing ford out so far. Way too much money imo. They must live longer, be a easy job or something. Slap those pistons in, next.... Kidding man. There will probably be a sale on new hemi engines soon also....

I respect Ford graatly for NOT taking bailout $$
This whole bailout thing is giving The Gov. a say in these companys/banks ....its Solcialsim!(sorry, bad spelling!)
In a Capitialist country like ours there is already a bail out plan, its called chp 11
these companys need to "trim the fat" so they can come back lean and mean.
I fear throwing all these billions at the problem is like a big camp fire, "Throw more $$ on the fire to put it out!"
When it would have cost less $$ to get a bucket of water.

America is better than this

All I want to do in life is raise my family, and race cars
I can't do that very well if in the end result, is being taxed to death to pay for this crazy spending
