actually they did a study on it at the institute of speed and badassness, and the found that due to the fact that fords arent used to going fast, once they do half of them cant handle it and give up on life :butthead:

Ask me sometime the fix, it can be done in my garage for 150. It's to do w cooling on #7 and 8 cylinders. Long story. Kellogg crank, manley h rods, zollner forged pistons the 03 has, no other big 3 has it and passes emissons and no piston slap. Look up pistonslap.com. Lots of ticked off ppl there. Bad stuff everywhere. Even toyota truck 5.7 ltr cams.

Piston slap hasn't been an issue on LS engines in a long time. It was a problem with the early LS truck engines and some LS1's. That web page hasn't been updated or changed in over 5 or 6 years. It's pretty much a non issue. Although it did piss a lot of people off at that time.
